Certified professional and certified nurse-midwives are highly qualified experts in healthcare for women through the lifespan.  Although most frequently associated with pregnancy care and childbirth, midwives can also provide full spectrum preventive and primary care for women from puberty through the end of life.  

The midwifery model is based on a continuum approach to care that relies on developing relationships, active listening, and compassionate,  empowered healthcare.  Appointments with the midwife are longer than the average physician's office, and much more relaxed.  It's not unusual to feel like you're just chatting with an old friend by the end of your first visit.
