Kim is a masters-trained midwife and nurse practitioner. She holds undergraduate degrees in psychology, women's studies, and nursing from Loyola University in Chicago and Grand Valley State University in West Michigan as well as a masters in nursing from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. She is a certified nurse-midwife and board-certified women's health nurse practitioner, dually licensed in the State of Michigan.
Kim brings over a decade of nursing and women's health experience to Michigan Born & Raised. She specializes in midwifery, gynecology, and primary care for women through the lifespan. She is passionate about improving access to midwifery care, supporting physiologic birth, and partnering with families for empowered care. Her dedication to evidence-based care is further underscored by her pursuit of improved midwifery standards, including contributions to published works on homebirth safety.
She and her family live in Grand Rapids. When she's not up late with laboring families she loves spending quality time with her family and friends, and snuggling with her Mastiffs.
